Best Things to Do in Rishikesh After Your Yoga Course

The Ganga at Rishikesh at sunset

Your training is complete, but Rishikesh's rhythm continues after the certificate is in your hand. Leaving too quickly can feel like walking out before the last note of a song. A few extra days give you room to integrate what you have learned before moving on.

Sit by the Ganga

After weeks of deep work, the most useful thing you can do is often nothing at all. Go to the river at sunrise or sunset, find a quiet ghat, and simply be. Bring a journal if you like, but there is no need to write, let the moment land first.

Take a Soulful Hike

Rishikesh is ringed by forest trails and Himalayan foothills. Kunjapuri Temple at sunrise offers views and stillness at altitude; Neer Garh Waterfall has lush trails and a refreshing pool after the climb. Go early, and consider walking with the friends you trained alongside.

Join a Satsang

Whether or not you consider yourself spiritual in the religious sense, satsang and kirtan have a way of reaching past the thinking mind. Anand Prakash Ashram, Parmarth Niketan's Ganga aarti and the Beatles Ashram's song circles are all worth an evening.

Rest and Nourish the Body

A training asks a great deal of the body. An Ayurvedic massage, warm and grounding food, and simple rest are not indulgence here, they are part of finishing the process well.

Make Space to Reflect

Sit with what the training has meant: what changed, what is opening, what comes next. Rishikesh has no shortage of quiet cafes suited to journaling and slow conversation.
